Flicker & Flora
Beeswax wraps are a great eco-friendly alternative to plastic wrap!
The wraps can be used to cover dishes or jars, wrap cut produce, and even keep bread fresh! Simply warm it with the heat of your hands, wrap it around whatever you need covered, and use your hands to seal the edges. They can be washed and reused for a year or longer, and when they reach the end of their life can be composted or used as fire starters.
Beeswax wrap bags can be used in place of plastic ziplock bags. The beeswax seals out air, and the antimicrobial properties of the wax and jojoba oil keep food fresh.
All Flicker & Flora beeswax wraps and bags are handmade in WNY with 100% cotton fabric, locally sourced beeswax, pine resin, and organic jojoba oil.
Flicker & Flora is owned by former Ithacan, Anna Rainous. Flicker & Flora began with making soy and beeswax blend candles in unique vessels as well as those that would otherwise end up in a landfill and repurpose them into one-of-a-kind hand-poured soy and beeswax candles. The dust cover included with each candle is made of handcrafted seed paper containing a low-growing wildflower seed mix, which can be planted in the vessel after the candle is burned. Since opening, Flicker & Flora has expanded to include wax melts, beeswax wraps, and digital art prints to their offerings in addition to candles.
