Mid Century Modern vs. Maximalism
There’s a style shift that’s been happening in the zeitgeist. And we could tie it to the generational divide between Millenials and Gen Z as the latter begins to furnish homes and influence retail decor. But more than that, style and decor choices are reflections of where our culture is in this moment of history. Most Millenials grew up with a “road map for success” that suggested a college degree would lead to a good paying job and stability. This felt very true in the 90s and early 00s. So it makes sense that the glamour meets clean line functionality...
Attic After Dark: Halloween
In 2023, we began hosting after hours events in a series we've dubbed: Attic After Dark. A little bit spooky, a lot a bit fun! Our aim is to include and collaborate with vendors and local business partners that we don't regularly have in the shop! We love getting together with our community to have a good time :) This Saturday, October 14, 2023, we're hosting our Halloween Edition! Help Mimi's Attic Survive the Recession
If you've been a Mimi's fan for a while now, you'll know that the last few years have been a wild ride for us. We've worked through a pandemic, a change in ownership, and a move from our original building. And, thanks to our hardworking staff and amazing customers, we were able to do it all while continuing to provide New York State's Finger Lakes and Southern Tier region with previously enjoyed furniture, household goods, home décor, and original products from local artists and artisans. Ian and Amanda purchased Mimi's Attic from its founder in November of 2020 with dreams of continuing the legacy...

Our lease at 430 West State Street ended in March of 2021, and we successfully relocated our store to 401 Elmira Road. This was an adventure of...
New Mask Mandate
You’ve probably heard by now that there is a new mask mandate going into effect by order of NY Governor Kathy Hochul. At Mimi’s Attic this means that effective Monday, December 13, 2021, all patrons past their second birthday and medically able to tolerate a face covering will be required to wear a mask at all times in the store regardless of vaccination status. The mask must cover both the nose and mouth. We realize that this may be disappointing and frustrating. We have opted to implement this mask policy in lieu of requiring proof of vaccination to enter...
