Mimi’s Attic Needs Your Support to Keep Thriving!

For nearly 15 years, Mimi’s Attic has been more than just a consignment store—it’s been a place where the Ithaca community comes together to give furniture, decor, and clothing a second life. We’ve built something special here: a shop where sustainability meets affordability, where unique treasures find new homes, and where people can connect over a shared love of quality, pre-loved goods.

But today, we’re facing a tough reality. Like many small businesses, we’ve been hit hard by rising costs. Since mid-2022, inflation has steadily chipped away at sales, and we’re now at a point where we need a significant boost to stay open. To make it through February, we need to bring in at least $30,000 in sales this month. While that may sound like a daunting number, our average sales for the month of February between the years of 2020-24 sit at $40,000. So this goal is fully within the bounds of reality, but we need you to achieve it this year. We feel like Ithaca is collectively holding its breath and its purse strings as we watch the changes in our Federal government take shape, and we really understand that. At the same time, we need more than ever to show up and show out for each other as much as possible.

This isn’t just about Mimi’s—it’s about keeping a vibrant, community-centered space alive in Ithaca. When you shop with us, you’re not only supporting a small, locally owned business; you’re investing in a circular economy, reducing waste, and keeping money in our local economy. Without your support, Mimi’s will not survive.

Here’s how you can help:

• Shop with us this month. Whether you’re furnishing a home, updating your wardrobe, or looking for a special piece, we have a store full of high-quality finds at accessible prices.
• Tell a friend. Word of mouth is powerful! Share this post, bring a neighbor by, or tell your coworker about that perfect coffee table waiting at Mimi’s.
• Sell with us. If you have great-quality items you no longer need, consigning with us helps keep the store stocked and keeps your home clutter-free.
• If you are feeling generous, we welcome any gifts of saleable items or adjusted consignment splits that help us to keep the lights on.
• If any community members wish to make a direct financial contribution to our small business’s funds, we will graciously accept. Checks payable to Mimi’s Attic are preferred to avoid fees, but we also have business PayPal and Venmo accounts.
