Before and After

AlitaChair After

You know what they say, don’t judge a chair by its cover! Former Mama Goose employee Alita Howard shows us just how much of a difference fabric can make. When she first found this chair ar Mimi’s, it was cute but much too plain for her jazzy personality. After taking an upholstery class at Funky Junk, she tackled this project like a pro. This whimsical outdoor fabric is spill-resistant so it’s perfect for her child-filled home! To make the transformation complete, she used a chalk paint with a wax finish. Thanks so much for sharing your brilliance, Alita!!

Oh, The Possibilities…

In February, when winter is at its most dreary, it’s good to bring some life into your home. House plants are a great way to brighten up a room AND they clean the air and can lead to an improved outlook! A contributor to came up with an innovative way to make a unique planter- with an old magazine rack!! Add a coat of your favorite spray paint, a layer of peat moss, and some fresh greenery and you’ve got yourself an adorable project that’s sure to impress. Currently we have several magazine racks and firewood holders which we think could serve the same purpose quite nicely. Remember, if you purchase a Mimi’s treasure and jazz it up and make it your own, we give you $5 in store credit! So break out your spray paint, your green thumbs and get crafting!!
