You’re invited to celebrate Halloween and all that is magical the last weekend of October at Wizarding Weekend 2016!

Look for Mimi’s Attic in Press Bay Alley on Saturday, October 29th to check out what we’ve been up to. We are furnishing the “house common rooms” again this year! We get to use furniture and home goods from our inventory to create four areas to represent Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. This is the perfect place to take an Instagram pic with your fellow HP fans.

Don’t know anything about Harry Potter? You can still enjoy the abundance of events going on all weekend. Last year this event drew thousands of people and national news coverage-and this year looks to be bigger and better! Downtown Ithaca is going to be full of activities such as a coffee crawl, a horcrux hunt, a magical mystery driving tour, a raffle, a photobooth, trick-or-treating, karaokee, food trucks, wizard merchandise, Hogwarts classes, musicians, a costume contest, a Quidditch game, street performers and more!

Remember, we’re only four blocks west of the festival- so bring your out-of-town guests and continue the fun over at *magical* Mimi’s Attic. We’re open 10-6 Saturdays and 12-4 Sundays.

A Mimi’s Celebration (Part I)

We are thrilled to announce that our assistant manager, Yen, has tied the knot with her handsome beau, Zac! We are so excited for these two love birds to start their married life together and almost as excited about how beautiful and inspiring the wedding decor was. Before you click away thinking this post doesn’t apply to you, let me tell you that much of this decor would be perfect for any celebration, birthday parties, anniversary parties– you name it!

Most of the unique items and furniture you see below were collected through the years of Yen working and shopping at Mimi’s. The secret to having a wedding-ready and picture worthy home? Shop at Mimi’s! Trade in your old clutter and use the store credit to buy items like the beautiful mirror and vanity here.

Mason jars and fairy lights made things look magical. The decorative fabrics that adorned table added earthiness to the feel. An old frame and a painted piece of wood made the perfect sign, fit for any occasion. Most of these things Yen found cheaply at Mimi’s Attic (and you could too!)

A favorite aspect for everyone attending the wedding was the vintage vignette that Yen and Zac created from furniture found at Mimi’s Attic. They catered the style to suit their personalities perfectly. It made a stunning background for pictures of the bride and groom and the guests too! What a fun way to get your guests taking pictures of each other!
